I like 1–2 week vacations, but I am always relieved to sleep in my

I don't want to "travel" constantly. I want to move once, unpack, and live the rest of my life in a nice climate.

I want to move to a new country and stay there for several years to truly learn the language and culture before considering moving again.

I want to explore. Maybe 1 month here, 3 months there, or splitting my year between 2–3 different countries.

4. How do you handle internet connectivity and technology issues?

I call my service provider or a family member to fix it. If the internet is down, I can’t function.

As long as I can stream Netflix and check email, I’m fine. I don't need high-performance speed.

I need enterprise-grade fiber optic. I will only move to a place where I can guarantee a hard-wired connection for my workstation.

I need good speed, but I know how to use mobile hotspot sand find co-working spaces if the WiFi in my rental acts up.

5. What is your primary motivation for leaving your current location?

I’m just tired and need a break, but I love my community and routine

I want to stretch my retirement savings and enjoy a higher standard of living without working.

I want to change my tax residency and lower my cost of living while continuing to grow my career/business in one specific hub.

I have an "itch" to see the world, experience new cultures, and have adventures while I am still healthy enough to enjoy them.

6. How do you react to unexpected logistical problems (e.g., a flight cancellation, a lost reservation, or a plumbing issue in a foreign language)?

It ruins my week. I get very anxious and just want to go home.

I pay someone to fix it. I have the budget to insulate my self from inconveniences.

I deal with it, but it disrupts my work routine significantly. I prefer systems that I understand and control.

It’s part of the adventure. I take a deep breath, problem-solve, and treat it as a story to tell later.

7. What is your approach to healthcare and medical needs?

I have ongoing conditions that require me to see my specific specialists here at home frequently.

I plan to buy comprehensive local private insurance in my chosen retirement country and build a relationship with a local hospital.

I will get residency-based healthcare in my new country because I plan to be there long-term.

I am generally healthy. I plan to use International Travel Medical Insurance and visit doctors in different countries as needed (Medical Tourism).

8. How important is being physically near your old friends and family?

Essential. I need to see my kids/grandkids/friends every weekend. Zoom isn't enough.

They can come visit me in my new villa! I’m happy seeingthem once or twice a year.

I plan to build a new, deep social circle in my new city overthe next few years, and they can come and visit, or I can flyto them and visit.

I am comfortable maintaining relationships digitally andvisiting them for a few weeks a year between my travels.

9. What does your ideal "office" look like?

A corner office in a corporate building or my personalized desk at home with dual monitors and my ergonomic chair.

I don't have an office. I have a hammock and a book.

A dedicated room in my apartment with soundproofing anda permanent setup.

A laptop stand on a dining table, a co-working space, or abalcony with a view—as long as the work gets done

10. How do you feel about "Residency and Visas"?

Dealing with immigration paperwork sounds terrifying and not worth the hassle.

I want a "Retirement Visa" that allows me to stay indefinitely without having to leave.

I want a "Digital Nomad Visa" or any other Visa that leads to temporary (1-5 years) or permanent residency so I can set up a legal base.

I am comfortable entering as a tourist or using temporary Nomad Visas, and then moving on before the visa expires.

Settled.

Financial risk—I need to make sure my nest egg lasts.

Career risk—I can't let my move negatively impact my business or job performance.

The risk of regret—I’m more afraid of not trying this lifestyle than I am of it failing.
